Vermont catering has its own flair and traditions. A well established chef and clientele set the stage for a creative menu and reliable outcome. 158 MAIN CATERING and 158 Main Restaurant are Owned and Operated by Chef John J. Foley III since 2004. We began catering various meals and events almost immediately, with requests growing in numbers through kind referrals from guests. We are grateful and thank you for considering our services for your own event.
Chef Foley’s culinary journey took him from a casino kitchen in Nevada to South Florida where he worked alongside James Beard Award winners Chef Ron Morrison and Chef Mark Militello (also named one of America’s 10 best chefs). Foley also cooked for one of Burt Wolf’s cooking shows exploring culture, history and cuisine.
The influence of such masters of the culinary arts left its mark, effortlessly, and intermingles with Foley’s strong connection to New England. The famous 158 Main Seafood Chowder is a testament to this, as is 158 Main’s line of homemade breads. Foley still fashions every loaf much in the same way as his Grandmother and mother did, and 158 Main is still equipped with the original Middleby-Marshall oven brought in by entrepreneur Alden Bryan in the 1950’s. That oven is a monument to good food and warm atmosphere.
As you might imagine, weddings are among our most frequent requests. We cater on location, at venues of your choosing throughout Lamoille County and the surrounding areas, both indoors and outdoors. We also host special occasion dinners and parties at 158 Main Restaurant and in our bright and vast Jeffersonville Pizza Department dining room.
We can feed a small party of 15 guests or a large gathering of hundreds and provide the appropriate selection of appetizers, main courses, desserts and drinks to suit occasion, atmosphere and budget. We also cater children’s birthdays and milestones, sport team celebrations, corporate events, business meetings and any celebration you may feel is worthy of a good meal and good service. We can accommodate special dietary needs as well.
